The history of ImgHack
The initial release of ImgHack.se was in the late fall of 2008. We wanted to offer a site that allowed users to easily upload their images without the hassle of account registrations. A site where people could upload their images without having to worry about strict policies or cheap sites that forbid hotlinking.

The 2.0 release
Back during the first release we used a random open-source framework. As the site got bigger, it outgrew the framework and it couldn't keep up with the traffic. The site became slow and we had random issues with our storage solution. Because of this, we decided to start over and build the site from scratch instead. Now we use a very tiny framework written in PHP and we're using PostgreSQL as the database backend.
Morality
ImgHack has a fairly lose policy regarding what content you may or may not upload. We believe in freedom of speech and no images will be removed just because they show some naked skin or such. Things like hatecrime is of course against the Swedish laws and we're bound to follow those. At the end of the day, we want to make internet a better place and hopefully you share the same thoughts.
